Tournament Limited to 300 Players

The 2026 Laredo Open presented by Deutsch & Deutsch will feature a special Friday Night Exhibition with Bob and Mike Bryan, the most successful doubles team in tennis history. The Bryan Brothers won 119 tour-level titles, 16 Grand Slam championships, Olympic gold, and held the world No. 1 doubles ranking for 438 weeks. In 2025, they were inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Join us for this special exhibition on Friday, November 6th, 2026.

DIVISIONS

  • Ladies’ Doubles: 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5+ and Ladies 55 and Older (7.0 Combined)
  • Men’s Doubles: Men’s Doubles: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, OPEN, and Men’s 55 and Older (7.5 Combined)
  • Mixed Doubles: -Men’s Doubles: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, OPEN, and Men’s 55 and Older (7.5 Combined)

Players from outside the United States will have their ratings determined by the Tournament Director using available references, including Universal Tennis and professional contacts. Players who are not members of the Club must have their rating verified by a Laredo Country Club Racquet Sports Professional.

* Divisions must have a minimum of 3 teams. If less the division will be canceled.

* If you have any questions regarding your division please contact the racquet sports professional staff.

REGISTRATION

Maximum of 300 players. Players will be placed on a waiting list after reaching 300 entries.

All players must register online. NO refunds after deadline date. Non-members must pay with credit/debit card upon registering. Laredo Country Club members will have option to pay the entry fee online or billed to their account. All players will sign up in their division for $400 per individual.

*** Non-Members only register and pay for one division with your partner's name. Then send us an email with your mixed doubles team’s information and division to ricardo@laredocountryclub.net.

** Members will sign-up in their division that is free on the website and $400 per member will be billed to your account.

DRAWS

Draws and times will be posted online on Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 12:00PM. A reminder that all times are subject to change in case of inclement weather.

** Players may be substituted into the draw in case of an emergency/injury as long as the tournament has not started, which means no substitution after the start of the tournament, Thursday, November 5, 2026, 8:00 AM. Substitutions must be approved by the Laredo Tennis Open Racquet Sports Professional Team.

ENTRIES

Player’s entry fee includes doubles and mixed doubles. Players must enter with a partner in both doubles and mixed doubles. Players may register for doubles only, mixed doubles only, or both divisions.

Doubles and mixed doubles partners may differ by no more than 0.5 rating level. Teams must compete at the higher-rated player’s level.

* Example: A 3.0 player may partner with a 3.5 player and must compete in the 3.5 division. A 2.5 player may not partner with a 3.5 player.

Junior Player Eligibility:

High school varsity tennis players may enter and must compete in the following divisions:

  • Ladies: 3.5 or 4.0 & Up
  • Men’s: 4.0 or 4.5 & Up
  • Mixed Doubles: 4.0 or 4.5 & Up

Final division placement will be determined by the Racquet Sports Professional Staff.

AWARDS

1st Place / 2nd Place / Consolation per division.

SCORING

Main Draw Scoring: 2 out of 3 sets, no ad scoring, third set a 10-point tie-breaker (first team to win 10 points and win by at least 2 points). All teams losing their first match will be placed in the back draw. If you have a no show, or default, in the first round that will not count as your first-round match.

Back Draw Scoring: 2 out of 3 jet sets. No ad scoring. First to win 4 games. Third set will be a 10-point tie-breaker.

** In case of inclement weather, scoring format will change.

TOURNAMENT PLAY

A. All main draw matches will have a minimum one-hour break in between matches. Players may request less time. Back draw matches will have a minimum of 30 minutes in between matches.

B. All players must adhere to their scheduled times. If a player or team is more than 15 minutes late, they will automatically be defaulted; no exceptions. No match time requests or change of times will be allowed, only in case of inclement weather or court conditions will times be subject to change by the Tournament Director.

Tournament Referees: Mike McHenry, Chair of the Officials Committee for the 2025-2026 USTA Texas Committee, certified referee.

By registering for The Laredo Open you are agreeing to abide by the ITF Rules of Tennis and USTA Rules & Regulations set forth in the USTA Friend at Court. All players with a USTA rating may only play in that rating or .5 higher. Example: a 3.0 player may play in 3.5. The highest level of sportsmanship is expected from all tournament participants and spectators.
